Free Dental Care is provided at Halcombe School

Dental therapists visit the school each year to check all children's teeth and provide basic oral health treatment and follow-up care as needed.

Full information about any treatment, and consent forms, will be provided for parents/caregivers at the time of these visits.

They will refer students with more serious issues to dentists, orthodontists or dental surgeons as required. The therapists also assist Year 8 students with enrolment in the Year 9 - 13 high school dental care programme.

The next scheduled visit for our therapists will be notified in the school newsletter.

If you have any problems or concerns about your children's teeth, you can contact the dental therapists at any time
at 06 322 8791 or 0800 825 583.

Please note: for accidents e.g. chipped or broken teeth, please go straight to your family dentist, who will organise ACC cover for treatment. This service is not provided by the school dental therapists.

Our dental service is provided by the Whanganui District Health Board.
